The Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES is accepting applications for a NYS Certified English teachers for our the Compass Program, our Alternative Education Program.

The Compass Program at Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES is an alternative education program for middle and high school students who have experienced difficulty in attaining school success within a traditional learning environment. The program offers small class sizes and individualized support to help prepare students for a Regent’s diploma.

The Compass Program offers:

Small group instruction, at grade level, within a supportive setting.
Increased student engagement created from a project-based learning model.
Exposure to the community through public resources and academic field trips.
Strong development of communication between home and school.
Involvement in a full-day block schedule.
A structured program environment with clear expectations.
Accountability for individual actions.
Positive Incentive Programs.

The successful candidate must possess or be eligible for NYS Certification in English 7-12.

This is a full-time, 10 month position that follows the school calendar.
