Job Description:
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking individual to join our facilities team as a Building Maintenance Helper. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our school buildings and grounds are clean, safe, and in working order. The ideal candidate will be skilled in performing a variety of manual labor tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of buildings and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in cleaning, window washing, floor scrubbing, and general upkeep of buildings.
  • Check boilers to ensure correct operation.
  • Perform minor carpentry work (e.g., furniture repair).
  • Prepare surfaces and assist with interior painting.
  • Maintain grounds, including mowing lawns and trimming shrubs.
  • Replace light bulbs and fuses.
  • Clean lavatories and polish metal fixtures.
  • Assist with snow and ice removal.
  • Maintain tools and mechanical equipment.
  • May operate light vehicles and maintenance equipment.

Qualifications:
  • At least one (1) year of experience in general manual labor.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Working knowledge of basic building maintenance tools and practices.
  • Manual dexterity and physical stamina are required to perform duties.
  • Must be in good physical condition.
